Midfielder Joao Teixeria Hails 'Dream' Move to FC Porto After Confirming Liverpool Exit

Portugal u21 international Joao Teixeira has confirmed his Liverpool exit in favour of a move to Portuguese giants FC Porto which brings an end to his four-year association with the Reds, Liverpool Echo reports.

The 23-year-old will be returning to his homeland after a disappointing stint with Liverpool, which was punctuated with several loan moves around Europe.

He only made 8 appearances in total for the Reds and scored just one goal, which came in an FA cup match against Exeter in January, but the youngster has still attracted a whole host of clubs around Europe.

FC Porto were one of those many teams and after talks between his agent, Jorge Mendes, this week, the 23-year-old will be plying his trade in the Portuguese league next season and the youngster cannot hide his delight at the move.

He said: "I am from the north and to wear blue and white has always been a dream for me.

"Now I can work at my club in my region and my country.

"I had other offers but do not want anything other than to wear blue and white."?

Teixeira has already worn the colours of rivals Sporting Lisbon but few opportunities were handed to him by Jurgen Klopp despite his willingness meaning a move was the only realistic option.
