Remo Stars striker, Victor Mbaoma has said his side want to end the first term campaign on a winning note.
The Sky Blue Stars are guests of former champions, Enyimba in Wednesday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 19 clash at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar.
Mbaoma said the key for his side is the whole three points at stake not the person that scores the goal(s).
“We actually want to win at Enyimba to bring to an end our first stanza campaign on a winning note.
“Unlike the first match of the season that saw us lose on home ground to Plateau United we want to close first term chapter with a win.
“Already the match officials have assured of even playing ground for both sides during pre-match meeting so we are further embolden that we can achieve the almost impossible.
“I will not want to make promises or predictions but I have something in mind I want to keep to myself till the end of the match.
“However, what is at stake for us in the match is the whole three points at stake not me or any other player.
“If I’m well positioned to score I will do it with joy but if my teammate is better placed I will gladly give him the pass.
“It’s all about the team achieving its lofty dream of winning the clash not personal ambition which will always be secondary.
“The encounter is certain to be tough, we watched Enyimba versus MFM FC clash which ended even for both sides on same pitch.
“We already know it will be an uphill task but we are determined not to come back empty-handed,” said the Remo Stars marksman to supersport.com.
The top-flight newcomers are 19th on the 20-team top-flight on 19 points 14 behind league leaders, Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministries (MFM) FC with a game to spare at Rivers United.
