It was the Academy boys who opened the scoring through winger Zakaria Mumuni who profited from poor defending by Medeama left back Moses Sarpong to slot opener.

Déjà vu for the home fans and the visitor after Zakari struck first in their MTN FA Cup quarter-final clash but the Mauves and Yellows bounced back to win 3-1.

Sarpong was obstructed inside the box and Nathaniel Asamoah elected himself to score his season’s 18th goal.

The contest was very close with the visitors mounting a strong challenge and showing enough commitment.

But when all thought the match was heading for a draw, Benjamin Bature scored the clincher with five minutes left on the clock.
