"?Hull City have confirmed that key pair Curtis Davies and Robert Snodgrass will both miss Thursday night's EFL Cup semi-final second leg with Manchester United through injury.

The blow to the team's cup ambitions was confirmed by Marco Silva during his pre-match press conference and reiterated via the club's official "?Twitter account.

The Tigers' top scorer this season Snodgrass will sit out the clash due a 'muscle injury' that also prevented him from travelling with the squad to last weekend's defeat against league leaders Chelsea.

Davies meanwhile was forced off during during Hull's 0-2 defeat at Stamford Bridge and the club has stated that "?"?the defender suffered a hamstring problem that will see him sidelined for Wednesday's encounter.

The double blow is disheartening for Silva and Tigers' fans alike, as Snodgrass and Davies have undoubtedly been the club's star performers in a season with little to cheer.

29-year-old Snodgrass has weighed in with seven goals this season and three assists so far, while Davies leads the Premier League table in terms of interceptions.

The pair join Ryan Mason, Alex Bruce and Will Keane on the injury table and Silva may be forced to throw new signings Lazar Markovic and Oumar Niasse into the deep end as Hull look to overturn a 2-0 deficit at the KCOM stadium against Man Utd.
