German-born Ghanaian versatile defender Marcel Appiah has confirmed to GHANAsoccernet.com he has returned to full fitness and would join his team-mates soon.

The 26-year-old has been out since late October after damaging his knee in a league game for Eerste Divisie leaders NEC Nijmegen.

However, the wing-half has returned to training and will join his team-mates for their mid-season tour of Spain.

"I'm working more hard to return. I'm doing more power training and balancing," he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Marcel was a regular starter for NEC until his injury and would have to fight for his place in the starting line-up when he returns to full action.

He was born to a Ghanaian father and a German mother but has opted to play for Ghana if he is given the chance.
