"?With the arrival of Pep Guardiola and new addition Ilkay Gundogon, Yaya Toure's future at Manchester City looked in doubt.

When Roberto Mancini was appointed Inter Milan boss in 2014, it was reported that he was set to make a move for the Manchester City vice-captain to kick-start his career at the San Siro. It was later revealed that a deal failed to go through.

With Gundogon set to miss the first couple of months of the Premier League due to injury, the Spanish manager is happy to keep the Ivorian despite their falling out when the two were together at Barcelona in 2010.

With Toure's family settled in Manchester and with no other Premier League club willing to meet his salary demands, a move to elsewhere in this transfer window appears unlikely.

Yaya Toure has had an incredible career at Manchester City, winning two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, two League Cups and one Community Shield. Yaya scored 72 goals across the six seasons at the club.

The Manchester City enforcer is also highly recognised for his achievement of being the African Player of the Year four years in a row from 2011 to 2014.

With the Citizens unwilling to release Toure from his contract, it looks like the Ivory Coast midfielder will see out the remaining 12 months on his contract. Expect to see Toure playing in Manchester City's opening game of the 2016/17 season against Sunderland at the Etihad on Saturday 13th of August.
