Madura United Negotiate Contract Extension With Impressive Odemwingie

Indonesian top division side, Madura United FC have opened talks for a possible contract extension with their marquee player, Peter Odemwingie, Completesportsinigeria.com reports.

Odemwingie joined the club in March on a short term deal, and has since been a big hit in the Indonesia's top tier Liga 1 scoring nine goals and providing four assists in his first 10 games to emerge the top scorer in the division.

"We are discussing and we hope it ends well," Madura United coach, Gomes de Oliviera told the club's official website.

Odemwingie has made good contribution."

Madura FC sit second in the log after 11 games with 22 points, one adrift leaders PSM  (Persatuan Sepakbola Makassar).

They face Borneo next Tuesday 4th July.

The 35 year old Odemwingie is third former Premier League star to join the Indonesian league this year after ex-Chelsea stars Michael Essien and Carlton Cole signed for Indonesian champions Persib Bandung.
