Liverpool's Luis Alberto Set for Medical as €7m Move to Lazio Edges Closer

"?Liverpool's Luis Alberto is edging closer to a permanent move to Serie A side Lazio as it is confirmed that the player is having a medical with the club.

Lazio are set to sign Luis Alberto from Liverpool. Fee is €5m plus add ons. Liverpool also entitled to 30% of any profit should he be sold.

The Spanish U21 international is set to complete a €5m move with €2m in add-ons according to "?Football Italia, ending a three year spell with Liverpool which saw him loaned back out to La Liga sides Malaga and Deportivo la Coruna.

Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio spotted the player at the Paidela clinic in Rome where the player is said to be completing his medical. Should everything go to plan, Alberto will be able to sign his contract on Wednesday evening and officially be announced as a Biancocelesti player to the Lazio fans.

Alberto failed to make a significant impact on the first-team under then manager Brendan Rodgers, making only nine Premier League appearances for the Reds while at the club. Under Jurgen Klopp, it is understood that he was never going to be considered as a first-team squad member, meaning that the Spaniard has been looking for a new club since the arrival of the German coach.

A positive that can be taken out of the deal from a Liverpool perspective is that they have made a slight profit on the former Sevilla and Barcelona B attacking midfielder, having purchased him for £6.8m from the former after the 23-year-old was highlighted as a promising young talent.
