Liverpool and Arsenal Fans React to Jurgen Klopp Breaking 19-Year Long Stamford Bridge Hoodoo

Published on: 17 September 2016

"?It may have been 26 years since Liverpool last won a league title (sorry, Reds fans...).

However, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp can knock back a celebratory drink after breaking one particular hoodoo that has plagued Premier League sides for almost two decades.

Friday night's 2-1 away victory over Chelsea saw Liverpool continue their impressive start to the 2016/17 season under the German.

It was one particular stat, though, that will leave Liverpool fans feeling particularly smug the day after seeing their team move up to third in the league standings.

The triumph over Antonio Conte's men was the second successive victory that Klopp had enjoyed at Stamford Bridge.

And, in the process of beating the Blues on their home turf, the former Borussia Dortmund manager became the first boss since Arsenal gaffer Arsene Wenger to win back-to-back games at Chelsea:

2 - Jurgen Klopp is the first manager since Arsene Wenger in 1997 to win his first two PL visits to Stamford Bridge as a manager. Normal.

"?"?In the wake of the stat going live, Liverpool fans took to twitter to express their opinions on the matter:

@optajoe what a great man. klop for the kop.

@OptaJoe Normal One

"?"?Arsenal supporters even got involved in the post-match analysis, and offered their thoughts on the 19-year long figure:

@optajoe Wenger,he was the future once.

@OptaJoe @Outerfoot minor. He is just auditioning for arsenal anyway and keeping busy till Wenger decides to leave lol

"?"?It's fair to say that most Liverpool fans will have something to say about that last Arsenal supporter tweet, mind...

"?"?
