Leicester City Keeps An Eye On Nigeria Youngster Peter Etebo

Leicester City are tracking Nigerian international winger Peter Etebo, according to reports.

The 21-year-old, who plays for Feirense, mid-table in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, has been attracting interest from around Europe since his four-goal haul in Nigeria's 5-4 win over Japan at the Olympics in August.

Now a full international alongside the likes Ahmed Musa and Wilfred Ndidi, Etebo has been tracked throughout the season by City and Turkish giants Fenerbahce, according to Portuguese paper A Bola.

Etebo has not quite matched his goalscoring feat from Rio 2016, where Nigeria came third, grabbing just one goal and one assist in 18 appearances across all competitions for Feirense this season.

In his six caps for the Nigeria senior team, he has one goal, scored on his debut against Egypt, and one assist, setting up John Obi Mikel in the Super Eagles' 3-1 World Cup qualifying win over Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani's Algeria in November.

Etebo is in the Nigeria squad to face Senegal and Burkina Faso in friendlies later this month. The matches, on March 23 and 27, will be played at Barnet's The Hive Stadium.
