Jeonbuk: Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors striker, Lee Dong-gook, has reached 200 goals in Korea Republic's K League Classic after he helped his side beat Jeju United 4-0 to claim their fifth title on Sunday.

Jeonbuk were already leading when Lee headed home in the 78th minute.

“I know that the record will be broken one day, but I’m so happy that I’m the first one who reached 200 goals,” said Lee.

“My teammates and I talked about the best scenario. It was that my 200th goal and winning the league happened at the same time,” he said.

“I want to thank the enthusiastic Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors fans. I wanted to show my name to them, and that’s why I took my jersey off and held it up high for the celebration.

Lee made his debut in 1998 when he was a high school student. He scored 47 goals as a Pohang Steelers striker, then joined the Korea Armed Forces Athletic Corps where he scored 15 goals.

He transferred to the English Premier League and came back in 2008. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors signed him in 2009, and scored 136 goals for the team, becoming a fantastic player in the history of the K League.
