Krmpotic: Amapakabo sacking not a factor

Zesco United coach Zlatko Krmpotic, insists the dismissal of Enugu Rangers coach Imama Amapakabo, is not a factor heading into Saturday’s 2017 Caf Confederation Cup pre-group stage, final leg decider.

Amapakabo was dismissed just 24 hours after Rangers blew away a 2-0 lead at home, in Enugu in the first leg to finish 2-2, with their Zambian opponents on April 9.

Chukwuma Agbo will be in charge of Rangers for this weekends final leg match, to be played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

“I have said this before, that I only focus on my team and problems involving my team. Enugu Rangers problems are not mine,” Krmpotic said.

“We must be serious now for Saturday’s game, we must win this game and it should not come down to calculations.”

Meanwhile, Krmpotic revealed that his injured trio of striker Jackson Mwanza, midfielder Misheck Chaila and defender Simon Silwimba, who all missed the first leg, are still ruled out.

Striker Idris Mbombo, though, returns after missing the first leg match, due to a one-match suspension.

“Only Mbombo is coming back. Jackson, Chaila and Simon are not ready and need at least three weeks more,” Krmpotic said.

A scoreless draw will be enough this weekend to see Zesco through to the group stage.
