Former Arsenal and Nigeria international forward Kanu Nwankwo says he hopes highly rated on loan Arsenal midfielder Kelechi Nwakali will be given the chance to prove himself at Arsenal in the future.

Nwakali has spent his first two seasons at Arsenal on loan with the first loan at Dutch side MVV Maastricht, where he eventually ended the season last time out on another loan after failing to impress at top division side VVV Venlo in the first half of last season.

Now out on loan to Porto B, where his growth will be tracked for promotion to the main team, Kanu believes he has the required ability to make the grade at Arsenal judging by the progress he is making so far.

Kanu also confirmed he has been giving tips to the 20 year old in form of advice regarding his career and he is confident, he will continue to progress and hopefully get the chance to show his worth to the manager and fans of Arsenal.

” Nwakali is a ?very very good player, I hope you have seen him play? Then you will know that he is good. He played for Nigeria before the World Cup against Atletico Madrid. He scored a fantastic goal.

“So he keeps playing, he keeps progressing and he keeps going. I keep advising him. I hope one day they will open the door for him to play for Arsenal”, he said at an interview in London monitored by Owngoalnigeria.com editorial team.
