Juvenile football: Newly-crowned Milo U13 Champions Bepong Methodist presents trophy to title sponsors
Bepong Methodist Primary School, winners of the 2015 Milo Under-13 Champions League, presented their trophy to the title sponsors Nestle Milo Ghana on Wednesday.
The short but impressive ceremony saw the newly crowned champions present the trophy to the country manager of the giants beverage company, Fred Duplan at their headquarters in Accra.
The unknown Eastern regional based school clinched the title in a fabulous fashion, beating Camboni R/C Primary 2-0 at the Paa Joe Kumah stadium in Kumasi last Saturday.
Beaming with smiles, the champions made their way into the Milo head office well dressed in the apparel of the sponsors amid cheers from hoards of journalists.
The Milo Champions League, organized in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service and endorsed by the Ghana Football Association, brought together schools from across the country with over 36,000 students from 2000 schools participating in the competition.
Prior to the finals, four zonal qualifiers were held for all ten regions of Ghana. The winning teams from the zonal matches were trained by seasoned veteran and current footballers and coaches.
Bepong young star Enerst Awuah won the golden ball award for his individual brilliance.
