Juan Cuadrado Explains Reason Behind Juventus' Dogged Attitude After Coppa Italia Quarter-Final Win

Published on: 26 January 2017

"?Juan Cuadrado has claimed that Juventus' unrelenting desire to win silverware was the key reason behind their hard-fought 2-1 Coppa Italia quarter-final victory over AC Milan.

I Bianconeri progressed to the last four of the domestic cup competition after seeing off the challenge of Vincenzo Montella's side, but the win was not without its problems as Juventus eventually held on to secure a place in the semi-finals.

Early goals from Pablo Dybala - a goal laid on for the striker by Cuadrado himself - and Miarlem Pjanic had put the hosts ahead, but Carlos Bacca's 52nd-minute strike ensured that the last 38 minutes of the clash led to shredded nerves among the Juventus faithful, despite Manuel Locatelli's sending off.

Speaking in the aftermath of the tough cup encounter in Turin, Cuadrado was quizzed by the club's "?official website over the qualities that he and his teammates exhibited against I Rossoneri, and the Colombia international insisted that the triumph was built on hard work and a determination to succeed.

He said: "I think regardless of the formation, it comes down to the grit and determination we play with. We know we have to fight hard to achieve our targets and always give 100% out there.

"That's what I always try to do no matter where the gaffer asks me to play "? both when I'm attacking and when I have to defend, which is something he's always pushing me on.

Did you @juventusfcen or anyone else noticed @Cuadrado 's AMAZING assist on @PauDybala_JR 's goal ?!!
That was fantastic

"We were excellent tonight and we created lots of chances. It's important for us to show how hungry we are when we take to the field. We're playing well but now we need to rest up and recharge the batteries because we've got a whole load of big games coming up."?

Cuadrado is currently six months into a three-year loan spell at Juventus from parent club Chelsea, and the 28-year-old has bagged one goal and five assists in 21 appearances so far this term.

Juventus are next in action on Sunday with a trip to struggling Serie A side Sassuolo.
