Jamie Carragher Believes Alberto Moreno's Days at Liverpool Are Numbered

Published on: 17 September 2016

"?Jamie Carragher believes that Alberto Moreno is running out of time to save his career at Liverpool and that the club urgently need to buy a new left back.

Moreno was heavily criticised by many during the first game of the season against Arsenal, when the Spaniard was caught out of position a number of times during the game and brought down Theo Walcott in the box leading to an Arsenal penalty.

Speaking to TalkSport, via the "?Liverpool Echo, Carragher said, "He obviously rates him [James Milner] higher than Moreno. If you're a left-back and the manager is playing a right midfielder ahead of you it probably tells you time is up at the club, so I would imagine in January or the end of the season a left-back will come in."

"Milner would become back up and it wouldn't be too bad then. I must say he's done very well but at this stage of his career it is not easy, but I don't think it could last for a full season and I am sure Klopp and his team are scouting for a left-back. Because you can see he has no time for Moreno."?

Since the game against Arsenal, Moreno has been dropped from the side and has resorted to coming off the bench. Despite not being a left back by trade, James Milner is currently playing there and has been impressive with his recent performances.

Moreno has been heavily criticised by Carragher in the past, especially during the defeats to Manchester City and Sevilla in the League Cup final and Europa League final respectively.
