Iwobi: I’m Fit For Atletico-Arsenal Europa Clash In Spain

Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi, is confident he will be fully fit to make his seventh Europa League appearance for Arsenal when they take on Spanish side Atletico Madrid in the semi-final second-leg on Thursday at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Iwobi has made six appearances in the competition, three of them as substitute.

Iwobi starred for 90 minutes in Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat at Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday and afterwards his manager, Arsene Wenger said that the Nigeria international was battling with a hamstring injury.

Arsenal need a win or score two goals in a draw at the Wanda Metropolitano to reach the Europa League final. The first leg ended 1-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

“I believe it is very good. I am still being assessed but to me it is good and I will be okay,” Iwobi told Sky Sports.

“We will have to wait and see but I believe I will be okay and fit (for Atletico).”

The Nigerian so far this season has played 35 games for Arsenal scoring two goals.
