"?It's official. I"?nter Milan have won the race to sign Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Barbosa.

The Nerazzurri have revealed the forward has signed a five-year contract following completion of negotiations with now former club Santos, the player, and his representatives. 'Gabigol', as he's known, has turned 20 today, and has moved for a fee in the region of £25m.

The player was part of the Brazil team that recently won the gold medal in the Men's Football competition at the Rio Olympics, and has represented his nation at other levels from Under-15's to Under-23's.

He said "?recently about the move that his transfer was not about money - but merely because he feels it's the correct step in his career: "I'm not going for money, or because Santos pressured me. I'm going because that's what I want. It's good money but it's a huge challenge.

"I scored a lot of goals, won titles (at Santos) and now it's time to move on. It's not a matter of money, but of recognition."

European giants Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been linked with the player this summer, but his switch to Serie A is now official.
