Inter Milan Boss Frank De Boer Rues Missed Chances After 1-1 Draw With Palermo

"?Inter Milan manager Frank De Boer believes his side should have comfortably beaten Palermo on Sunday, blaming missed opportunities as a reason for the 1-1 draw.

Inter went 1-0 down just after the half-time break, with Palermo's Andrea Rispoli breaking the deadlock in the 48th minute.

De Boer made a double substitution 15 minutes later, bringing on summer signing Antonio Candreva as well as 19-year-old starlet Senna Miangue.

And the changes had a desired effect, as Inter levelled the scores five minutes after through club-captain Mauro Icardi.

"We played much better in the last match and we're really very disappointed by the result, after how the game went." De Boer said at the post-match press conference, as quoted by "?Inter. It, "We could have easily won 4-1 the way we played in the second half, so I'm really disappointed.

"We have some quality players and we know what Candreva can give us, but on this occasion Eder was in better physical shape than him. Right now my players aren't at 100% and we did better in the second half because I explained to them what we needed to do to dominate the game.

"The lads fought hard and I saw the kind of energy I want to see on the pitch. It's not a problem if some players didn't play to their peak, I just want to see them putting their hearts into it.

"I didn't make the third change because we weren't creating so much pressure - it was only a matter of time. We didn't need another sub, I'm confident we'll get better. The fans were amazing tonight."

Inter now have two weeks of rest during the international break before they travel to newly-promoted Pescara.
