The centre-back over-stretched to slice a ball from striker Demba Ba just after the half hour mark.

He could not walk again and had to be helped off the pitch by members of Ghana’s technical team.

Youngster Daniel Amartey replaced the Evian TG man at the Stade Oceane du Le Havre.

Mensah will undergo tests on Sunday to determine the extent of his injury.
