Apparently, the news of 20-year-old Tyronne Ebuehi declining Nigeria’s invitation struck home more than the NFF and its cohorts will want the world to believe if the comments of the Super Eagles Team Coordinator are anything to go by.
Patrick Pascal tried hard to play down on the ADO Den Haag defender’s snub by stating a player the Federation had attempted to lure – whose name made a list of invited players for a World Cup qualifier – wasn’t a much of a concern to the Super Eagles.
Perhaps not the players, but the administrators who extended the invitation and the Technical Adviser , who was led to believe all likely loose ends have been tied with the attempt to make Ebuehi who is of Nigerian parentage switch allegiance.
Pascal however made his obvious angst over the matter show when he declared that ‘ Nigeria had many good players who could fit in the right back position better.
He also prayed ‘ he (Ebuehi) doesn’t make a wrong decision that will regret in future.’
