American international of Ghanaian Joseph Claude Gyau has undergone a latest knee surgery and is set to miss the rest of Borussia Dortmund's season.

The 22-year-old suffered a similar problem while in action for the USA in an international friendly game but returned to action for Dortmund II in December only to aggravate the problem.

Gyau underwent his latest knee surgery in early February and is set to miss the rest of the season.

The attacking midfielder, who is a grandson of former Ghana international Nana Agyeman Gyau, joined Dortmund from TSG Hoffenheim for 120,000 Euros.

Though he is still eligible to play for Ghana, Gyau earned his maiden USA call-up and featured in friendly games against Czech Republic and Panama.

Gyau has played one Bundesliga game for Dortmund this season but has 11 games and two (2) goals to his name in the Liga 3 with the Dortmund II side.
