Ghana defender John Boye says healthy competition is good for Black Stars

Ghana defender John Boye has hailed the unity and competition in the Black Stars after their victory over Rwanda in the AFCON 2017 qualifier.

Boye, played a pivotal role as the Black Stars held on to beat the Amavubi of Rwanda by a lone Mubrak Wakaso goal.

The Sivasspor man was paired with Daniel Amartey at the heart of defense, as Johnathan Mensah was relegated to the bench.

But Boye says the competition is good for the team and would bring the best out of every one.

“I think that we are all professionals and we are competing for the same spot,” Boye told Citi-Sports

“You can see that we have a lot of competition in all departments of the team and that will bring the best out of everyone.”

‘”You saw the game and you we did what we had to do and for me that is the best thing to happen to our team at the moment.”
