Nigeria goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, will miss the planned ceremonial kick-off for the game between Nigeria and England at the Wembley stadium.
Ikeme is due to undergo further treatment as he continues to battle with acute leukaemia, CSN exclusively gathered.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper was diagnosed with acute leukaemia in July 2017 and has been undergoing chemotherapy.
The President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick and some other top chieftains of the body visited Ikeme at The Christie Clinic in Manchester, where he is being treated on March 26 2018 as the Super Eagles got set to face Serbia in an international friendly in London the following day.
It was during the visit that the NFF intimated Ikeme that the team would appreciate the honour of his presence during England versus Nigeria friendly on June 2, during which he would perform the customary kick off of the match.
Pinnick also assured Ikeme during the visit that his reward as a member of the Super Eagles squad that qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia would adequately secured for him. He also assured the goalkeeper that that was still part and parcel of the team even as they go to Russia, and prayed for his quick recovery and a return to the national team as soon as possible
