UCL: Iheanacho Out Of Man City/Monaco Tie

Published on: 21 February 2017

Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho will not be on the line up as Manchester City host high-flying Monaco at the Etihad Stadium in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League first leg.

Despite featuring in City’s 0-0 draw against Huddersfield on Sunday in the fifth round of the FA Cup, the Nigerian international, whose name was deleted in place of injured Gabriel Jesus, will only watch from the stands just like other fans.

The City manager, Pep Guardiola may be kicking himself on the legs for omitting Iheanacho’s name considering the fact that Jesus’ injury has ruled him out of the season and it will be impossible to recall the Nigerian international.

Iheanacho has scored two goals in three appearances for the Citizens in the UEFA Champions League and has netted four goals in 14 appearances in the Premier League.
