Super Eagles star Odion Ighalo is having a medical ahead of a reported £20m move from Watford to Chinese Super League side Changchun Yatai.
Changchun Yatai's £20m bid for the Nigerian international was accepted by Watford after an earlier bid of £15m was rejected with West Brom also sufferring a setback in their bid to sign the former Granada man due to the Hornets' huge demands.
The Premier League side on Monday decided to cash in on the misfiring forward who is now set to venture to the moneybags Chinese Super League days before the winter transfer Deadline Day.
Ighalo was top scorer across all four divisions in the calendar year 2015, when his 30 goals fired the Hornets to promotion and Premier League safety, in all but name, by Christmas.
Even when the goals dried up for him in the second half of last season, Shanghai SIPD made a mind-blowing £37.5m bid for Ighalo last summer – which the player rejected.
His market value plummeted as he finished 2016 with just six goals in all competitions, and Watford's top brass agree a fresh start is the best solution for all parties.
