Igbonu Signs Two-Year Contract Extension With Russian Club FC UFA

Nigeria striker Sylvester Igbonu has extended his contract with Russian Premier League club, FC UFA by two more years.

“Football Club Ufa and Nigerian striker Sylvester Igbonu has extended his contract. The term of the new agreement is for 2 years,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.

“Igbonu has been playing for Ufa since 2015 and during that time he has played 78 matches and scored 14 goals.”

The 27-year-old joined FC UFA from Danish side, FC Midtjylland in 2015 where he scored 41 goals in 147 appearances spanning five years.

Igbonu has been capped six times at the international level by Nigeria.

He made his international debut in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualification game against Tanzania on September 5, 2015, replacing Moses Simon as a substitute in the 69th minute.
