Former Abia Warriors and Remo Stars defender Ifeanyi Anaemena has officially hung up his boots after a career spanning 20 years (2005–2025), Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The 3-time NPFL champion—who also proudly wore the Green & White of ??—announced his retirement while reflecting on his journey: "Against all odds, I stood in active football for 20 years… wore the national jersey… played outside Nigeria. Truly, there’s dignity in labour."

The former Enyimba FC defender released a statement on his retirement from active football via his social media page.

Anaemena steps straight into a new chapter as Sporting Director of Kun Khalifat FC, calling it “a big honour for the NPFL to have one of its products serve as an administrator.”
