Idowu, Ogude Help Amkar Perm Survive Relegation From Russian Premier League

Super Eagles defender Bryan Idowu was in action for Amkar Perm who retained their Russian Premier League status by beating second-tier side FC Tambov 1-0 away in the second leg of the promotion/relegation play-off on Sunday.

Amkar emerged victors 3-0 on aggregate after winning the first-leg 2-0.

Also in action for Amkar was 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner with the Super Eagles Fegor Ogude.

Amkar’s goal was scored by Mikhail Kostyukov in the 39th minute.

The final play-off tie will see Anzhi Makhachkala entertain FC Yenisey Krasnoyarsk from the second division.

FC Yenisey Krasnoyarsk hold a healthy 3-0 advantage from the first leg.

The Russian promotion/relegation play-off is between the teams that finished 13th and 14th from the top flight and the third and fourth-placed teams from the second division.
