Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr says he won’t agree to the demands of the technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) ?over vetting of his list of players called up to the senior team of Nigeria.

Shortly after Nigeria’s 0-2 loss to South Africa, the technical committee of the NFF held an emergency meeting with the Franco-German coach, which according to head of the department Chris Green several decisions were reached.

Green said the coach will no longer have monopoly over the players called up to the Super Eagles, and the committee will vet his list of call ups before it is released to the public in a press conference, where questions will be asked on any questionable call up.

However Ade Ojeikere of Sportinglife reports that the coach through one of his aides said Rohr won’t submit his list to the committee for vetting, as the list is usually drawn alongside his assistants.

Furthermore he said the coach insist players called up to the team is usually done with the opposition in mind, as not all players are needed for particular games.
