Hull Determined to Beat Liverpool and Chelsea to Genk Wonderkid Leon Bailey

Published on: 25 January 2017

"?19-year-old Leon Bailey is currently one of the hottest properties in world football. The pacy forward's stock has grown hugely in recent months following a host of impressive performances for Belgian club, Genk.

Premier League interest has come thick and fast with Liverpool, Chelsea and Everton all interested in acquiring the services of the Jamaican winger.

However, relegation threatened Hull City are also in the mix for the starlet, with the club hoping they can secure the signing of Bailey for just £10.3m, as per "?Daily Mail.

The Belgian side value their asset at £20m so it seems unlikely that the club will accept Hull's bid before the transfer deadline next week.

Interest has also been cropping up from all across Europe for the youngster with Roma, Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen all said to be keen on the Genk starlet.

Despite Hull sitting far behind the competition in terms of clout, new boss Marco Silva is determined to achieve what would be a marquee signing for the Tigers.

Nevertheless, the lack of European football could play a part in Bailey's decision and with the the very realistic threat of Hull slipping down into the second-tier, he may just be put off further.

This transfer window has already seen the Tigers part ways with one of their most important players as Jake Livermore agreed a £10m move to West Brom, while reports suggest that the club have accepted a similar bid for their talisman Robert Snodgrass.

Oumar Niasse has been brought in on loan from Everton but as of yet the club are yet to make any significant ground in the market.
