The Ghana Football Association has confirmed that new Black Stars video analyst and physical trainer are on a short-term contract and will leave after the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

New coach Avram Grant has brought along Gerald, a match analyst and Jamie Lawrence.

Gerald’s role has come under scrutiny after he was seen instructing and directing training sessions for the team at the expense of assistant coach Maxwell Konadu.

But Ghana FA vice president Fred Crentsil says there is no need to panic.

“Both Gerald and Lawrence have only been engaged for the AFCON and the FA pays them,” Crentsil told GHANASoccernet.com

“They will have their contract reviewed after the AFCON competition.”

Ghana will leave for the Spanish city of Seville on Sunday where they are expected to strategize for a difficult tournament in Equatorial Guinea.

The Black Stars will play Senegal on 19 January in Mongomo before matches against Algeria and South Africa in Group C.
