Ghana captain Gyan absent in Al Ain stalemate in Arabian Gulf League

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan was not in the Al Ain squad that were held to a 1-1 draw by Al Dhafra in the Arabian Gulf League on Friday night. 

The 29-year-old who has bagged 11 goals from 11 games was not in squad at the Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Stadium for the game for reasons yet to be known.

Ain needed a 59th minute strike from French international attacker Jires Kembo-Ekoko to snatch a point from the game.

Though Al Ain were unable to win the maximum points from the game, they still remain at the top of the table with 43 points from 19 games.

Gyan is expected to be back for their next fixture which will be an away tie in the Asian Champions League against Pakhtakor.
