Former Super Eagles defence hardman Godfrey Obaboana is backed in Nigeria after his contract with Saudi Arabia side Al Ahli was terminated in February.
27 year old Obaboana signed a multi million dollar a year deal with the Saudi giants in July, but six months into his stay at the club, which has option of a renewal for a another year was terminated by the club.
The 2013 AFCON winner according to reports gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com returned back to Nigeria last month to ponder on his next career move after a premature? end to his stay in Saudi Arabia.
During his six months spell with the Saudi side he played just nine league games and picked up one booking, with his other appearance coming in the Kings Cup which is one of the cup competition in the oil rich nation.
Prior to his move to the Middle East, he has spent the majority of his career at Turkish side Rizespor, as a matter of fact they still remain his only club he has played for in Europe since his departure from Sunshine Stars of Akure in 2014.
