Fifth AFC Champions League final for Irmatov

Saitama: Uzbekistan referee Ravshan Irmatov will be in charge of an AFC Champions League final for the fifth time in his career, when he officiates the second leg of the 2017 edition decider between Urawa Red Diamonds from Japan and Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia on Saturday.

Irmatov, 40, previously officiated the 2007, 2011, 2013 and 2015 AFC Champions League finals.

Irmatov has been awarded the AFC Referee of the Year five times - in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2014.

He officiated in the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup, having refereed nine matches in the two Finals.

Irmatov has also officiated in several major continental and international tournaments.

He was in charge of the FIFA World Cup 2018 Continental Play-off second leg between Australia and Syria in October.
