Facts about NPFL ahead of Matchday 33

As we keep an eye peeled on the run-in of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), we look back at the fascinating numbers in the past 32 matchdays of the campaign before Matchday 33 fixtures take place this Sunday and Monday.

1 - Wikki Tourists have taken the least number of points on the road this season. They have just a point from the draw

2 - Only ABS defender Ernest Governor and Obinna Nwobodo of Rangers have scored more than one goal each in single away matches this term.

3 - Akwa United goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo has saved the most spot kicks this season. He has stopped three penalties.

4 - No player has scored more away goals than Abia Warriors striker Sunday Adetunji this season. He has scored four on the road, one more than others.

5 - The division has witnessed five hat-tricks so far after 32 matchdays. MFM's Stephen Odey, Reuben Bala of Plateau United, Alhassan Ibrahim of Akwa United and Anthony Okpotu of Lobi Stars have accounted for the hat-tricks with the Lobi being the only man to score two hat-tricks this season.

6 - Godwin Obaje of FC Ifeanyiubah and Odey have scored the most goals from penalties this season. Both men have scored six goals apiece from the spot.

7 - Okpotu and Akwa United's Musa Newman have scored the most goals in the second round of the season. They have seven goals apiece in the business end of the campaign.

10 - Kano Pillars striker Nyima Nwagua currently holds the record of the fastest goal this season. His 10 seconds strike in their 3-1 win against Sunshine Stars remains the fastest goal so far.

13 - Nasarawa United goalkeeper Suraj Ayeleso currently leads the race for the gloves with 13 clean sheets.

14 - There have been 14 away wins so far this season.

16 - Plateau United and Shooting Stars jointly have the most individual goalscorers this season. Both clubs have 16 different goalscorers each.

18 - Odey remains top scorer this season. He has scored 18 goals and is five goals away from equalling Mfon Udoh's 23-goal record in a single season.

28 - Plateau United have been dominant by staying top of the pile for 28 matchdays in 32. The top spot has been occupied by MFM on the other four matchdays.

35 - This season has witnessed 35 players being sent off after 320 matches.

60 - The number of matches to conclude this season.

106 - The number of players who have scored on the road this season.

145 - There have been 145 away goals ths term.

486 - The home teams have accounted for 486 goals so far.

631 - A total of 631 goals have been recorded this season in the NPFL.
