Emeka Eze converted a crucial penalty, five minutes from time to help RoPS Rovaniemi claim a share of the spoils in an exciting 2-2 draw with HIFK Helsinki in Finland’s top division, the Veikkausliiga on Saturday.

The 20-year-old Nigerian attacker kept his composure to fire past the HIFK goalkeeper, Tomi Maanoja in the 85th minute to save his side from a home defeat.

It was his fourth league goal of the season in his 14th appearance of the season.

Another Nigerian, former international, Sani Kaita, also on the books of RoPS was an unused substitute in the game decided at the Rovaniemen Keskuskenttä.

The plaudits were however claimed by Eze, a man truly in a rich vein of form.

Eze began his professional football education at Cameroonian club, Aigle Royal de la Menoua in 2016 where he scored nine goals in 29 league matches.
