Chelsea star Victor Moses is a world-class player and he stands a good chance of being named CAF African Footballer of the Year 2017, according to former Nigeria star Garba Lawal.
Victor Moses and William Troost-Ekong are the two Nigeria stars among the 30 players nominated for the prestigious award with the winner to be announced at a gala night on January 4 in Accra, Ghana.
“Victor Moses is a great athlete who has proved to the whole world that he has what it takes,” Lawal said.
“We just have to wait for CAF to announce the final shortlist and we will take it from there, but I am confident he can go ahead and win the award.”

Transformed under new manager Antonio Conte, Victor Moses was a key member of the Chelsea team who reclaimed the Premier League championship within the year under review and he also played a big role in ensuring Nigeria qualify for next year’s World Cup in Russia from ‘The Group of Death’.
Nwankwo Kanu was the last Nigeria star to win the award after he beat Samuel Kuffour of Ghana to clinch it for the second time in 1999.
Rashidi Yekini, Emmanuel Amuneke and Victor Ikpeba are the other winners of the individual accolade.
