Former U17 World Youth Championship top scorer Macauley Chrisantus has explained the reason why he settled for Spanish third division side Real Murcia after terminating his contract with Greek top flight side Lamia.
Chrisantus joined Real Murcia as a free player on a short term contract during the January transfer window after mutually terminating his contract with Greek side Lamia, just three months after joining them.
In a chat with Owngoalnigeria.com, the 27 year old who represented Spanish second division side Reus last season explained his move to the team as divine, because at this stage of his career he needs to once again earn the respect of top teams in Europe.
” It was a tough decision but at the end I have to agree to the move as it will enable me the chance to once again relaunch my career especially in Spain, where I am known and respected “, Chrisantus told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” Murcia are an ambituous side, they are 4th on the log and eyeing promotion to the second division, and while I am open to staying here for the long haul, my immediate aim is to earn the respect of top teams around Europe.
