Europe Roundup: Ogu Bags 3rd Goal Of Season; Troost-Ekong Loses With Udinese, As Kalu Crashes With Bordeaux

John Ogu scored his third league goal of the season for Hapoel Be’er Sheva who were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Maccabi Tel Aviv on Sunday.

Ogu who is expected to report to the Super Eagles camp in Victoria on Tuesday scored in the 26th minute of the game.

The goal was his third goal in seven games in all competitions.

In Scotland, Nigerian born Rangers midfielder, Ovie Ejaria played all 90 minutes for Rangers who lost 1-0 to Celtic in the Old Firm derby on Sunday.

It was Ejaria’s fifth start of the season for Rangers while his compatriot Sadiq was not listed for the game.

In Italy, William Troost-Ekong made his third start for Udinese who lost 1-0 to Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi stadium.

Also Joel Obi played for 82 minutes before he was replaced by Sofian Kiyine in his third appearance for Chievo Verona who played out a goalless draw with Empoli.

Simeone Nwankwo came on for Ante Budimir in Crotone’s 4-1 win over Foggia in the Italian Serie B.

Nwankwo is yet to get off the mark for his club this season.

In the French Ligue 1, Samuel Kalu played all 90 minutes for Bordeaux who lost 2-0 to Stade Rennes. Kalu has made four Ligue 1 appearances since he joined the club from KAA Gent.

In Belgium, Imoh Ezekiel played a sub for Kortrijk in their 3-3 home draw with Genk. Ezekiel has made three substitute appearances since joining the club on a free in the summer.

In Russia, Fegor Ogude saw yellow while in action for Yenisey Krasnoyarsk who were held to a goalless draw at home to FC Arsenal Tula.

Ogude has made four appearances since the start of the season.

Earlier on Sunday in England, Alex Iwobi was absent when Arsenal held off a late challenge to beat Cardiff City 3-2 in Wales.

Iwobi has made two appearances for the Gunners this season and has scored once.

Isaac Success came on for Andre Gray in the 71st minute for Watford who defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at the Vicarage Road.

The game was Success’ third substitute appearance this season.
