Nigeria midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo has expressed his disappointment as well as hope after Las Palmas’ 2-1 stoppage time defeat to Levante in a crucial LaLiga relegation clash on Sunday at the Estadi Ciutat de Valencia Stadium.
Etebo, who is currently on loan from CD Feriense of Portugal at Las Palmas, however promised he has not given up on the team’s survival with seven games left to play in the season.
Levante’s Jose Campana scored a 92nd minute winner to condemn Las Palmas to a crushing defeat and also put their LaLiga survival in further jeopardy.
Jorge Moeno put home side Levante ahead in the 35th minute, but Las Palmas’ David Garcia then equalised five minutes into the second half with a header.
“Terrible way to lose in the last minute of this important game. We have not given up hope I promise. UD Las Palmas,” Etebo who wrote on his Instagram page after the defeat.
Las Palmas are now 19th in the table with 21 points from 31 games, 10 points off Levante in the 17th position.
Las Palmas will face Real Soceidad in their next game on Sunday.
