Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi has praised the Falconets following their 3-1 win against Canada at the 2016 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Papua New Guinea on Wednesday.

The Falconets bounced back from their 6-0 loss to Japan to record their first win of this year's tournament.

Gabrielle Carle opened the scoring for Canada in the 15th minute but Chinasa Uchendu equalised for the Falconets from the penalty spot one minute into first half added time.

In the 46th minute of the second half, Joy Bokiri made it 2-1 in favour of the Falconets before Chiwendi Ihezuo sealed the win with a 73rd minute goal.

Reacting to the win, Mikel wrote on his Twitter handle: "Well done ladies."

The Falconets will take on Spain on Sunday in their last group game and need a win to stand a chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals.
