Technical Committee member of the Ghana Football Association Mas-ud Didi Dramani has disclosed that Ghana needs more academies to be able to design a specific playing philosophy for our games.
Many soccer pundits in the country have advocated for a specific football philosophy for the national teams, but the CAF instructor believes that the country can only achieve that of we have many academies in the system.
"Getting a specific football philosophy is good for the game in every country but in Ghana it will be very difficult. It will be because we don't have a lot of academies here," Didi spoke to Ghanasoccernet.com
"We need a lot of academies in the system to champion that. We can't just say we are having a philosophy when we don't have it in generations. We have to start from the U12 level where the kids will be taught and trained to play a specific style of football and that will cut across," he added.
"When we don't have a lot of academies in the system we can't teach and train players as we want. The players will not only learn about how to play football but also how to relate with each other, what must be done at certain times of the game and a whole lot. Those who are calling for that are right but we need some structures in place before we can do that."
However, the former Asante Kotoko coach insists that the local premier league clubs must equip their youth sides and make proper use of them so that their team philosophies can be defined.
