Ghana defender Daniel Amartey won the Fair Play Award in Monday’s Group C opener against Senegal.

The 18-year-old, who made his tournament debut as the Black Stars succumbed 2-1 in Mongomo, scored high marks for his sporting behaviour.

Amartey, who plays for FC Copenhagen, was never booked and did not get involved in savage tackles.

He was part of Ghana’s back three who took the lead through Andre Ayew on 14 minutes from the spot by conceded in added on time to lose the match.
