DeAndre Yedlin Hoping Loans Can Help Him Follow in Harry Kane's Footsteps

"?Tottenham full-back DeAndre Yedlin has admitted that he'd be happy to return to Sunderland on loan next season, revealing that Spurs striker Harry Kane has become something of a role model for him since he arrived in England 18 months ago.

Yedlin was snatched by Spurs after a strong World Cup performance with the USA, but spent all of last season out on loan with the Black Cats. However, he told "?Goal USA that he didn't mind loan spells, citing the success of Spurs teammate Harry Kane after being loaned out to Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich and Leicester City.

He said: "It's definitely a door I would not close. I would not mind going back (to Sunderland). I had a great time there. I'm keeping all doors open, I don't want to shut any right now. Any opportunity that is offered to me is a big opportunity. When you're dealing with the Premier League, it's still unbelievable to think that I'm playing in the Premier League."

The 22-year-old is expected to be named in Jurgen Klinsmann's squad for the summer's Copa America this summer, saying: "I'll just keep my head down and perform at Copa America. Obviously if I can have a good tournament here it'll impress a lot more people."?

He added: "Sometimes that's all you need, is a year of playing, that little bit of confidence. You look at Harry Kane, two years ago coming back from loan and playing, he comes back to Tottenham and absolutely kills it and is now England's No. 1 striker. Confidence is a funny thing, and sometimes that's all you need is just that little bit to elevate you to the next level."?
