Striker David Accam will be unable to make his full debut for Chicago Fire on Sunday following his late call up to the Ghana squad for friendlies against Senegal and Mali.

The 23-year-old was handed a late call to the Black Stars following an injury to Norway-based striker Mahatma Otoo who was originally named in the 22-man squad.

Accam’s late call up now means he will miss Chicago Fire’s MLS home game against Philadelphia Union on Sunday.

The striker impressed after coming on as a second half substitute in last week’s 2-1 defeat at San Jose Earthquake.

The former Helsingborg man had missed the start of Chicago Fire’s difficult season so far through injury.

He was however expected to make his full debut for the club this Sunday.

Accam will now have to wait longer to make his full debut as he now travels to join the Black Stars camp in France for friendlies against Senegal and Mali on Saturday and Tuesday respectively.
