Ghana is known for acquiring European-born players of Ghanaian descent who show quality and interest in representing the West African country.

German-born Kevin-Prince Boateng and Netherlands-born Quincy Owusu-Abeyie have all played for Ghana in the past.

But they have also failed to convince players including Mario Balotelli, Danny Welbeck and Jerome Boateng to play for them as these players have gone ahead to represent Italy, England and Germany respectively.

The GFA is currently working on the nationality switch of Feyenoord star Elvis Manu who has shown interest in playing for Ghana at senior level despite representing the Dutch at various youth levels.
