Czech Republic champion Viktoria Plzen have announced the signing of Nigeria midfielder, Ubong Ekpai, on a three- year deal.
Ekpai, 22, joined Viktoria Plzen from another Czech club, Fastav Zlin.
“FC Viktoria Plzeň have completed the signing of Nigerian player Ubong Moses Ekpai 🇳🇬! ✍️ The 22-year-old arrives from Zlín and has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Doosan Arena. Welcome in Plzeň, @UbongEkpai!,” reads a tweet on the club’s official Twitter handle on Monday.
The former Akwa United midfielder who has represented Nigeria at the U-23 level scored five goals in 22 league appearances for Zilin in the just concluded season.
Viktoria Plzen will be Ekpai’s third Czech club as he has previously played for Slovan Liberec on loan from Isreali club Maccabi Haifa in the 2016/2017 season.
Viktoria Plzen will compete in the Champions League next season after winning their fifth league title in eight seasons.
