Croatia Hopes To Start With A Win Against Nigeria

Croatia defender Josip Pivaric says the country hopes to start their campaign at the 2018 FIFA World Cup with a win against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The Vatreni will face the three-time African champions at the Kaliningrad Stadium on Saturday in the second Group D match of the day.

Zlatko Dalic’s men have failed to record a win in their last three opening day matches and have managed to score just one goal.

But the Dynamo Kiev of Ukraine left-back is adamant they can end that poor run by picking maximum points against Gernot Rohr’s men.

“Croatia hopes for a successful start, moving on step by step. Then we will see where our limits are,” Pivaric who has won 19 caps for his country told the Croatia Football Federation official website.

The Croats will face two-time world champions Argentina in their second group game on June 21 in Nizhny Volgograd and Iceland on June 26 at the Rostov Arena.
