Black Stars players relived their memories with Kevin-Prince Boateng on international duty by posting their pictures with him whilst wishing him happy birthday.

The Schalke 04 star turned 28 on Friday, his birthday coinciding with Ghana's Independence Day along with wing-wizard Solomon Asante who also turned 25 on the day.

Boateng's birthday took center-stage on Twitter with his former AC Milan - where he enjoyed a short spell hero status, and Schalke 04 plus the Ghana Football Association wishing him happy birthday.

While Twitter had more individuals wishing the happiness on his birthday, Instagram had most of current Black Stars players sharing their past pictures with him and wishing him a happy birthday.

While there they were doing this, a section of Ghana fans were wandering whether the former German youth international is being missed by his international colleagues.

Boateng is known to be a big fan of Trabzonspor forward Majeed Waris who also shared a picture of the pair and good wishes.

The 28-year-old has not received a call-up from Ghana since being sacked from the team's camp during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The Ghana Football Association would have to take a decision on Boateng if current coach Avram Grant decides to include him in his future plans.
